Genus: Prosantosaurus KLEIN, FURRER, EHRBAR, LADEIRA, RICHTER & SCHEYER, 2022
Etymology: In reference to the Prosanto Formation, the fossiliferous Lagerstätte in which the Ducan mountains southwest of Davos, eastern Switzerland and Greek, sauros, "lizard."
Species: scheffoldi KLEIN, FURRER, EHRBAR, LADEIRA, RICHTER & SCHEYER, 2022
Etymology: In honor of Beat Scheffold, scientific illustrator and sculptor as free-lancer, and technician at PIMUZ, Zurich, Switzerland for his manifold contriubtions to Triassic marine reptile research adn visualization.
Holotype: PIMUZ A/III 1274
Locality: Ducanfurgga locality no. 4, southeast of Davos, Canton Grisons, eastern Switzerland.
Horizon: Upper Prosanto Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Early Ladinian Stage, Middle Mid Triassic Epoch, Middle Traissic.
Material: A nearly complete and articualted specimen.

PIMUZ A/III 1197: A complete but strongly twisted skeleton.
PIMUZ A/III 1240: An articulated specimen lacking the anterior snouth and distal part of tail.
PIMUZ A/III 1275: An articulated specimen lacking the posterior part of the tail.
PIMUZ A/III 1490: A disarticulated specimen with well-preserved skull.
PIMUZ A/III 4566: A mostily complety skeleton with twisted neck, disarticulated right hand and lower limb and disarticulated anterior part of the tail.
