Etymology: Genus name from 'Strate', the name for Street recorded in teh Doomesday Book, and Greek, sauros, "lizard."

Etymology: In honor of Micheal A. Taylor, who caried out acid preparation of OUMNH J.10337 during an earlier study of Street plesiosaurians.
