Etymology: In honor of Kurt Wiedenroth, the amateur fossil hunter who discovered and collected the specimen.

Holotype: NLMH 106.058

Locality: On the stretch of coast between Lyme Regis and Charmouth, Lyme Bay, Dorset County, England, Southern United Kingdom.

Horizon: Black Ven Mudstone Member, Charmouth Mudstone Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Sinemurian Stage, Lowermost Lias Epoch, Earliest Jurassic.

Material: Skull, mandible and articulated cervical series and indeterminate fragmentary remains.
