Genus: Vinialesaurus GASPARINI, BARDET & ITURRALDE-VINENT, 2002
Etymology: In reference to the town of Vinales, in western Cuba in which area the fossil was found, and Greek, sauros, "lizard": Vinales lizard.

Age: Middle-Late Oxfordian, Lower Malm Epoch, Late Jurassic.

Material: Anterior portion of a skull and dentary.
