Etymology: Mapudungun, Wunelfe, "dawn star (Venus), mystic symbol of the Foye (sacred Tree), Flower and representation of the Mapuche freedom and untamed spirit.

Species: maulensis OTERO & SOTO-ACUNA, 2021
Etymology: In reference to the region del Maule, administrative division of central Chile where the specimen was recovered.

Holotype: SGO.PV.6507

Locality: Pelluhue, Region del Maule, central Chile.

Horizon: Quiriquina Formaiton.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Lower Upper Maastrichtian Stage, Upper Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Associated postcranial remains of a single individual, an isolated mid cervical centrum, the posteriormost cervical centrum, 2 successive pectoral centra, 12 dorsal vertebrae, 3 sacral centra, 10 caudal centra, most of both coracoids, mid portion of the interclaicular arch, symphyseal portion of left pubis, the acetabular portion of right pubis and the ventral part of the left ilium.
