Etymology: Tupi-Buarani (Brazilian native language), boi, "snake" and Tupi-Buarani (Brazilian native language),
peba, "flattened"; in reference to teh shape of the vertebrae.
Species: tayasuensis FACHINI, ONARY, PALCI, LEE, BRONZATI & HSIOU, 2020
Etymology: In reference to the type locality where the fossil was found, Taicu Municipality, Sao Paulo State, Brazil.
Holotype: MPMA 16-0008-08
Locality: From a rual road between the municipalities of Monte Alto and Taiacu, S21°09'53.9", W48°29'54.0", Bauro Basin, Sao Paulo State, Brazil.
Horizon: Adamantina Formation, Bauru Group.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Coniacian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
Material: A single precloacal vertebrae with a partial successive vertebra.
