Etymology: Huizachal, = place of mesquites, nahuatal, In reference to the name of the canyon where the taxon was found.

Locality: Huizachal Canyon, Municipio de Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas State, Mexico.

Horizon: Lower part of the La Boca Formation.
