Etymology:
In reference to the region of Alemoa site (Waldsanga or Cerro da Alemoa site), Parana Basin, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil and Greek, therium, "mammal": Mammal from Brazil.
Species: huebneri MARTINELLI, ELTINK, DA-ROSA & LANGER, 2017
Etymology:
In honor of Mrs Hilda Hübner (Latinized to Huebner), owner of the area where the holotype was unearthed.
Holotype: UFSM 11579b
Locality: Waldsanga or Cerro da Alemoa site, Parana Basin, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil.
Horizon: Alemoa Member, Sanata Maria Formation.
Biostratigraphy: Hyperodapedon Assemblage Zone, Candelaria Sequence, Santa Maria Supersequence.
Age: Carnian Stage, Lower Late Triassic Epoch, Late Triassic.
Material: Anteiror half of left lower jaw with few in situ teeth and the last three postcainine teeth detached.
