Etymology: In reference to Zigong City, Sichuan Province, China.

Locality: Dashanpu (Dashnapu Dinosaur Quarry), lat. 29°5’N, long. 104°50’E, situated 11 km east of Zigong City, 250 km south of Chengdu, Hechuan County, Sichuan Basin, Sichuan (Szechwan) Province, China.
Horizon: Xaishaximiao (Shaximiao) Formation.

Etymology: Latin, ultimus, "ultimate"; referring to the fact that this is the
geologically youngest Chinese nonmammalian theraspid.

Locality: About 35 km north of Jiangjumiao near the road 216 from Qiati to Ertai, 44°48'45"N, 90°02'43:E, northern Qitai County, Eastern Junggar Basin, Xinjiang Uygur Zizhiqu (Sinkang) Province, northwest China.
Horizon: Shishugou Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Late Jurassic.
Material: A partial skeleton, including 2 incisors, 1 upper molar, a partial skull with most of the right zygomatic arch and considerable part of the postcranium.
