Etymology: For Chalimin, an Indian chief who fought against the Spanish conquerors in La Rioja Province, where the fossil was found in northwestern Argentina.

Horizon: Los Colorados Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Material: Fragmentary skull and fragmentary dentary.
