Etymology: After the Gorno Formation, Bergamo Province, North Italy, which yielded the fossil + Gomphodon.
Species: caffii RENESTO & LUCAS, 2009
Etymology: In honor of Enrico Caffi, the first director of the Museo Civico
di Scienze Naturali "E. Caffi" Bergamo.
Holotype: MCZNB 5863
Locality: Zambla Alta, Bergamo Province, North Italy.
Horizon: Upper part of the Gorno Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Middle Carnian Stage, Lower Late Triassic Epoch, Late Triassic.
Material: A fragment of maxilla bearign three partially preseved teeth.
