Etymology: In reference to the Huang He (Hwang Ho) “yellow River”, which flows along Shanxi Province, China, where the genus was found.

Species: multienspidus YOUNG, 1979
Etymology:

Holotype: IVPP V4019.1

Locality: Locality 63024, Huakedaliang, Dayu Township, Jiyuan City, Henan Province, China.

Horizon: Shangshihezi (Upper Shihhotse) Formation.

Biostratigraphy: Jiyuan tetrapod fauna/Shihtienfenia Assemblage.

Age: Tatarian Stage, Lopingian Subepoch, Zechstein Epoch, Late Permian.

Material: 3 teeth.
Note: 2 teeth are of a therapsid the 3rd is a pareiasaurian (Honania complicidenta).
