Holotype: FRP 1964/27

Locality: Zeekoeigat, Venterstad, Bethulie, Free (Orange Free) State, Cape Province, South Africa.

Horizon: Katberg Formation, Beaufort Group.

Biostratigraphy: Lystrosaurus Assemblage zone (Lystrosaurus-Thrinaxodon zone, KEYSER, 1979, SACS, 1980, Procolophon zone, Lystrosaurus zone, WATSON, 1914, BROOM, 1906).

Age: Early Scythian Epoch, Early Triassic.

Material: Skull, posterior half of left dentary, ilium, femur, tibia, fibula, calcaneum and astragalus of the left side, left scapulo-coracoid, several isolated vertebrae, ribs and unidentifiable foot bones.
