Etymology: From the Urumchi (Urmgi) River, which runs through Dihua, capital of the Xinjian Uygur Autonomus Region, China, were the fossil was found.

Locality: West bank of the Urumchi River a few kilometers SW of Tihua, the Capital of Sinkiang, Yaomoshan, Urumai, Xinjiang Uygur Zizhiqu (Sinkang) Province, China.

Horizon: Jiucaiyuan Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Early Triassic.

Material: Fragmentary skull, dentary, tooth, fragmentary vertebrae, distal end of femur.
