Etymology: Latin, globus, "globe," in reference to the gloubus apparence of the carapace and Greek, chelys, "turtle."
Species: lennieri de LAPARENT de BRION, BRETON & RIOULT, 2021
Etymology: In honnor of Lennier for his paleontological and stratigriphic work of the Cap de la Heve, and whom was the first to mention turtles from this area.
Holotype: MNHN 2016.38.5060
Locality: Cp de la Heve, Sainte-Adress, Havre, Seint-Maritime Department, France.
Horizon: Calcaires Coquilliers Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Early Kimmeridigna Stage, Malm Epoch, Late Jurassic.
Material: Fragmentary shell.
