Etymology: After the Prebetic of Andalucia, Spain, where the specimen was
found.
Holotype: RGCHSP-62-52
Locality: Sierra de Cazorla, Riogazas-Chorro-Sponges section, Prebetic, Betic Cordillera, western Andalucia, east of Jaen, Jaen Province, southeast Spain.
Horizon: Bed 62, Lorente Formation.
Biostratigraphy: Bimammatum Ammonite biozone.
Age: Oxfordian Stage, Lower Malm Epoch, Late Jurassic.
Material: Fragmentary shell, cervical centrum, 2 thoracic vertebrae, 2 fragmentery ribs, partial right scapula, and a few isolated fragments of the manus.
