Etymology: "Lindero" from the site Loma del Lindero, euquen Province, Patagonia, Argentina and Greek, chelys, "turtle."

Etymology: In reference to the town of Ricon de Los Sauces, Neuquen Province, Patagonia, Argentina near the type locality.

Holotype: MAU-PV-LL 69

Locality: Loma del Lindero site, 10 km West to Rincon de los Sauces City, Neuquen Province, Patagonia, Argentina.

Horizon: Rio Neuquen Subgroup, Neuquen Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Turonian Stage, Uppermost Gallic Subepoch- Coniacian Stage, Lower Senonian Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: A fragment of hte suprapygal an dthe 8 right costal bone of the carapace, a partially preserved plastron, one cotyle and one condyle probably of a second to fourth opisthocoelus vertebrae or a seventh bioncave vertebrae, as well as fragments of two postzigapophyses of cervical vertebrae, left humerus, raidus, proximal carpal elements and right metacarpals and digits, the pelvic girdle, femora and fibula, and right tibia.
