Genus: Kansastega McDAVID & HOOKS III, 2023 (published 2024)
Etymology: 'Kansas", English, of Siouan orgin, for the State of Kansas in which the type species of this genus was discoverted, and ancient Greek, stegos, ,meanign roof, frequently used in teh name of protostegid turtles.
