Genus: Nichollsemys BRINKMAN, HART, JAMNICZKY & COLBERT, 2006
Etymology: In honor of Elizabeth Nicholls, in recognition of her contributions to the study of vertebrates in general and her work on marine turtles from the Late Campanian Bearpaw Formation of soutehrn Alberta in particular.

Etymology: In honor of Ron Baier, of Taber, Alberta, Canada who found the type specimen and donated it to the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology.

Holotype: RTMP 97.99.1

Locality: Found in glacial till exposed along Chin Coulee, south of Taber, District of Taber, Alberta Province, Canada.

Horizon: Bearpaw Formation, Upper Judith River Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Campanian/Maastrichtian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Skull wiht lower jaws preserved in a concretionary nodule.
