Etymology:

Species: patagonicus LAPPARENT & FUENTE, 2001
Etymology: In reference to Patagonia, where the specimen was found.

Holotype: MACN-RN-906

Locality: West Cerro Colorado, northwestern ange of "Estancia los Alamitos", close to Arroyo Verde, Valcheta Department, Rio Negro Province, Argentina.

Horizon: Middle Los Alamitos Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Campanian-Early Maastrichtian Stage, Uppermost Senonian Subepoch, Uppermost Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Anterior carapace, right lateral with lateral part of costals 4 to 6 and peripherals 7 and 8, anterior plastral lobe, 4th cervical vertebra, left humerus and left femur.
