Etymology: Latin, gracilis, "slender"; in reference to the gracile morphology
of this taxon compared to that of the type species, Portlandemys mcdowelli.

Locality: Bois de Sylleux, Courtedoux, near Porrentruy, Switzerland.
Horizon: Chevenez Member, Reuchenette Formation.
