Etymology: In reference to Argentina, where the specimen was found.

Locality: 6 km north of "Estancia Ocho Hermanos", west of Lake Musters, Sierra de San Bernardo, Sarmiento Department, Chubut Province, Argentina.

Horizon: Upper part of the Lower Member of Bajo Barreal Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Neuquenian Tetrapoda Assemblage, Upper Turonian or Coniacian Stage, Lower Senonian Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Early Late Cretaceous.

Material: Anterior part of carapace.

Species: portezuelae FUENTE, 2002
Etymology: In referect to Sierra del Portezuelo toponymic locality of Neuquen, Argentina.

Holotype: MCFpPVH-161

Locality: Sierra del Portezuelo, 22km west of Plaza Huincul City, Neuquen Province, Northwest Patagonia, Argentina.

Horizon: Portezuelo Formation, Upper Rio Neuquen Subgroup, Middle Neuquen Group.
(was Portezuelo Member, Rio Neuquen Formation.)

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Neuquenian Tetrapoda Assemblage, Upper Turonian or Coniacian Stage, Lower Senonian Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Early Late Cretaceous.

Material: Anterior margin of carapace and nearly complete plastron, left atlantal arch, and other 5 cervical vertebrae, 3rd ro 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th, both pectoral girdles, left and right humeri and medio-distal extremites of the femora.

Locality: Los Chivos Hill, Cubut Province, Patagonia, Argentina.

Age: Aptian-Albian Stage? Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Cast and bones of the anterior margin of a carpace.
