IVPP V9533-2: An isolated incomplete carapace of a large individual, plastron largely complete except for anterior lobe, carapace largely represented by impression.

IVPP V9533-3: A skeleton of a small individual missing the limbs, and tail, posterior end of carapace represented by impression, seen in dorsal view.

IVPP V9533-4: A partial carapace and plasteron of a large individual, missing the anterior and posterior ends of the carapace and the left half of the plastron.

IVPP V9533-5: A partial carapace of a large individual, missing the posterior end and right lateral edge, plasteron partially preserved.

IVPP V8755: A carapace of a small individual in dorsal view, missing its anterior edge and with the posterior portion of the carapace represented by impression of the inner surface.

Species: gamera BRINKMAN & PENG, 1993
Etymology: Named after Gamera, a fictional Japanese flying turtle, in reference to the winglike spines developed on the lateral margins of the shell.

Holotype: IVPP V9532-1

Locality: Laolonghuoe, 53 km west of Hanggin Qi, Inner Mongolia, People’s Republic of China.

Horizon: Luonhandong Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Early Cretaceous.

Material: The posterior right three quarters of a shell including the fifth to eighth costal, the sixth to eleventh peripheral bones and the hyoplastron.
